...silent fugue

This is Fugue. It's somewhat obvious why he's "silent". As a young beastie he was privy to the butchery of his family clan. Being the only survivor, he chose to sew shut his lips rather than speak of the atrocities he witnessed. Fugue has his own brand of strange sign-language; we know what one gesture means when he refers to himself -- everything else is "the Enemy."

Fugue chooses not to have much of a past.

Come to think of it... hell-bent on a cliche of violent vigilante vengeance, Fugue doesn't have much of a future, either.
